What this website collects, why, and how to control it. We keep it short and plain.
This website is run by Adopt Automation ("we"). We decide how the personal data described on this page is used. To reach us, use the contact page or email Info@AdoptAutomation.com.
Your name, email address, the topic and your message. We use them to answer you and, if you ask for one, to prepare a quote. The message reaches us by email. We keep it as long as we need it to deal with your request, and for normal business records.
Why we may do this: to answer you, or to take steps you ask for before a contract. You don't have to use the form, but we can't reply without an email address.
Your email address. We use it to send you new articles. It is stored in our email tool, and we get a short email when someone signs up. You can unsubscribe at any time: tell us and we remove you.
Why we may do this: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
The name and comment you type. We read every comment first. If we approve it, it appears under the article with your name and the date. We don't ask for your email address. Comments are stored in our database, and we get an email with your name and comment so we can approve it. We keep an approved comment while the article is online, or until you ask us to remove it.
Why we may do this: your consent.
We count how often each article is opened and how many votes each poll answer gets. These are plain numbers in our database, with no names or other identifiers. If you vote, your browser remembers it in its local storage, so the same browser can't vote twice.
No personal data is stored.
We use a cookie-free analytics service to see which pages are visited, where visitors come from (the site that sent them, and their country) and what device and browser they use. It sets no cookies. The provider says it tells visitors apart with a hash made from the request, and that the hash is thrown away after 24 hours.
Why we may do this: our interest in knowing how the site is used. The figures are anonymous.
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, time and the page asked for) so the site can run and be kept secure.
Why we may do this: our interest in keeping the site secure and working.
The button is a plain link. Nothing goes to WhatsApp until you click it. After that, the chat runs on WhatsApp (Meta) under its own terms, and we see your number and your messages in our WhatsApp.
Why we may do this: to answer you, because you contacted us.
This website works without cookies, and it doesn't set any of its own.
If we ever add a tool that uses cookies, we will ask for your consent first with a cookie banner, and list the tool here.
Articles can have YouTube videos built in. We use YouTube's privacy mode, so YouTube may set cookies only if you press play.
Only the services that help us run this site, and only for that purpose: our hosting, database and email providers. Some of them may handle data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States, under standard safeguards for such transfers. We don't sell personal data.
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, or send it to you in a usable format. You can object to how we use it, and you can withdraw any consent at any time. Get in touch (see "Who we are") and we'll answer within one month.
If you're not happy with how we handled your data, you can complain to your data protection authority. In Ireland that is the Data Protection Commission, at dataprotection.ie.
If we change this page, we'll update the date at the top.
